Margin financing is unproductive to the economy, it is just a form of legalised gambling. The banks are better off using their funds to spur economic growth via the financing of medium and small-scale industries.

The stock market is for investment and capital rising and as such margin financing is bad news as it allows for speculation. If you don't have the money, don't buy the shares. Why borrow and buy - isn't that what we tell credit-card defaulters?

Leave the banks alone and let them do business in peace

Politicians, in general can appear foolhardy when they pretend to competence and knowledge in areas never before traversed. This is why they need more than just good advisers. This is also why we need clever member of parliaments too.

Yes, it is good that China will one day become a superpower and I am very proud of it too - as a Chinese. That goes too for India and I am glad it too will become a superpower.

By the way, don't be a katak, many businessmen friends I have are already having trading relationships with China, Singapore etc. Most with China, it is good money there if one is careful and knows the opportunities.

We don't have to return there, we can go anywhere. Today is global you know. We return here for rest and visit friends.

Most make their money and keep outside the country - you know la to help the NEP. Not to have too much money in Malaysia to be counted as non-malay assets. Otherwise how can malays catch up with thousands of overseas Malaysian Chinese earning millions!

Mind you, many of those top graders who are working overseas are earning many times more! My own niece is making in the region of 100000 pound sterling per year at the age of only 30!

Actually Malaysian pay is very low compared to the West just like Indonesian pay is very much lower than Malaysian. So the lucky ones are enjoying their fruits of their labour.

It is ok, we are helping to ensure NEP a success by decrease our percentage of wealth.

I recently returned to Malaysia for a vacation and met up with a few old friends. We were talking about old times and present times, basically typical 'mamak stall' banter.

I couldn't help but ask their opinions about the current ho-ha between the prime ministers of old and new. We got talking about freedom of the press and corruption.

While they did agree with some of my points, they indirectly indicated there was a need for some 'necessary evils' for the sake of peace between races. I do not blame them for the BN machine over the years has instilled such fear in Malaysians through the propaganda, mainstream media and education system.

My friends told me there was no way they would let another coalition party rule the country, even to see if five years made a difference. A British philosopher once said, 'Neither a nation nor a man nor a crowd can be trusted to act humanely or to think sanely under the influence of a great fear'.

I am, however, encouraged that in recent years more questions are now being asked of ministers and BN cronies regarding corruption and suspicious business dealings. I am pleasantly surprised and happy that Dr Mahathir is doing what he is doing now.

Bear in mind he could just have retired quietly and enjoyed his life outside of politics. Perhaps he now realises the nasty seeds he has sown over the years and is trying to make things right while he still can.

I urge all Malaysians to keep questioning the current government engine, for as we all know there are not enough checks and balances to keep the ministers on their toes.

Nope. You got the equation wrong.

BN won was because there is no equal playing field. In a free democratic country, all parties are given adequate airtime on national television, newspaper, Late Show with David Letterman, etc.

Here, coverage is only for BN. Each time you switch on the TV, you will see our Bapa Slogan sleepy face. You don't have a chance to catch a glimpse of any of our oppositions figure. Tell me when was the last time you watch Anwar on national TV?

All the draconian laws in Malaysia prohibit free speech, and our local mainstream media will have to abide by it. Try to switch on to any of our TV news at 8 o'clock later and the answer is very clear there.

In conclusion, our oppositions are not weak. It is the unfair level of playing field. Period.

In this globalised world, capital is truly democratic and will go where it finds the best returns. Malaysia is not a place that you can get good returns at the moment, be it in starting a business, putting into the bank, or investing in stocks or properties.

We've lots of engineers graduated from worldwide universities, why can't we come up with a viable solution? Why am I being labeled as lazy bunch of government servant?

When the real lazy people are the administrator of this country who doesn't spend their time listening to the working people of government agency……….why? What does the CEOs of GLCs do, they spent taxpayers money to go overseas on a first class basis.

There is a break-down in communication between the government leader and the working people in the government or GLCs, the leader thought everything was ok because most of the CEOs lies in their reports, they will only tell good thing about the business although they are loosing money, the CEOs won't give a damn because they will be out of the company or retirement in 2 or 3 years……….and they will not be punished for their mistakes.

Make your journey to any GLC, 2 weeks before official visit by the prime minister, you will see building, flowers, people, roads, toilets, and trees undergoing major make-over at a very high cost due to the last minute preparation. So, how can they make money?

My only concern are the real workers, who really want have better future for the country. Don't blame them, blame the big-shot……….

The mistakes of privatisation during the Mahathir era, where his cronies managed to strip the plum assets of this country, should not be repeated. We should not play into their hands.

You malays don't like it? You leave! We are going to stay! We like it here! Who gives you the right to tell us what to do?

They just jealous because they are loose in economical race. I can understand that. If immigrants more rich than malays, then malays will be jealous like hell. It happens everywhere. If Chinese poor - I am sure malays never become racists but Chinese never made to be poor. We are made to be winner and sorry to the looser who become racists after that.

Malays never beat Chinese in economy even until end of the world - their destiny is to become slaves.

Why we live in your country because it is easier to earn money there - because your peoples have no brains that is why there are no competitive.

We are not scare at you my friend, lots of Chinese already move to other country such as Australia, Singapore or US. We have the money, we can go everywhere we like even going back to China!

God damn, you are really a fool. Why Chinese are everywhere? Here, let me tell you why. In China, it is hard to earn money because the competitive is extremely high. Where in country like Malaysia, there are no competitive at all - the reason is simple, you malays doesn't know how to do business and earn cash, so all the opportunity goes to the Chinese.

You have brain and you malays are well educated? And want to make Malaysia better? Why Malaysia still likes that? Corrupted, useless, weak junk country! The currency is useless, economy like shit! Think fools!

Thanks to Malaysia? Hahaha! And you said become rich because of Malaysia? No, Chinese become rich because we are hardworking and smart! Fools you! Chinese go everywhere also can live, in Australia, US, and all over the world. Go traveling around and see if you can find any malay! Hahaha!

Become smart because education in Malaysia? Dream! Think smart! Your education system is lousy, suck, useless! The standard is low! Find prove stupid!

Heart? Where is our heart? You malays don't like Chinese, why do Chinese have to pay our heart to Malaysia?

Point the finger to yourself. What a big fool malay stupid dumbass.

Also, visit your brother Indonesia, and you can see all the companies and shops are operated by Chinese. We also conquer your brother economy, fools! Hahaha……….what a joke! Indonesia!

Let us face it. You don't want Chinese to get out of Malaysia. Because if they did, Malaysia would never develop. They would also bring a great deal of financial wealth and investments with them too.

Note Malaysia is doing well. It certainly isn't because of the malays.

And Thailand which is another prosperous South-East Asia nation. It also has a large Chinese population and a national culture that is welcoming towards Chinese. At least they have a leader on the South-East Asia knows of how to treat Chinese. It is no wonder that Thailand is on the verge of being a developed nation.

Malaysia being in such a sad state, I can only see decline for decades to come.

May be even for centuries.

May be the rise of China can give the bright sparks of Malaysia some leverage to change society, but I doubt whether the ingrained culture of failure can be reversed.

Not the UK, not the US, not in most parts of the world, the culture of failure always reproduced itself generation after generation.

Change has to come from external influence and not from the inside.

Malays are lazy, narrow-minded, racist, in the real world. But they blame Chinese, Indians, white man, for many things. No wonder many person label malays as disgrace animals.

It is good for malays to go back to jungle of Africa, in order to avoid so many problems. Enough said.

Like what one said, your Umno malays label is to just rob the rights and benefits of the unassuming and poor malays, who think that you are fighting for their cause. Whom are you trying to bluff?

There is nothing to be proud of Ketuanan Melayu. If at all, it is only the personification of the ills facing the malays in general today.

Minus the nation building and economics, you Umno malays are left with only politics - right before and after independence. Creeps like you should find out and address this: talked and discussed corruption problem which does not seem to go away.

If even after almost 50 years, and after all the generous handouts, you are still a bitter man, lamenting at our Indians and Chinese successes, then go back and do a bit of homework to find out, why you need to work more and talk less.

Everyone knows that they worked and struggled to build a nation, I mean sweated it out. Lest you forget history, the Indians and Chinese came here to build a country which was largely neglected. Ask yourself why?

Their sweat and pains may have been forgotten by selfish creatures cloaking in disguise in the likes of you malay, but this Malaysia nation shares a rich history of the "other races" contributing to the nation building, which you cannot be proud of.

Well, there are always guys like me who have tried and have been continuously denied the opportunity to "serve" this country, basically with the race card thrown at me.

Look around yourself and tell me as honestly as you can - be whether under such circumstances, I would have reasons to love this country? Unless you have a different definition for that word "love"!

To further prolong the grips of the Umno malays over the greed others, especially the Chinese, is been made the scapegoat for all things.

A fear that had has no concrete socio-economical standings. It is more psychological. For that all the Malaysians are been pull and push into the self-dug hole of only Umno ketuanan matters most. All things are secondary.

He forgets that what he has been written is just like the saying: spitting skywards and get own face smeared.

Such a mind is wasted by simple form rather than the deep down substance, show this guy's mind is as twisted and empty.

The saddest part is that Umno fanatic can write better, indicating a higher level of "education" but more tunnel understanding of historical facts. His education is wasted, and another basket case of form over substance.

From what Umno malay fanatic has been written, it can be seen that these malays are still at the balls despite of the facts that, the globalization will eventually making their factitious claim obsolete.

Many would like to dispute and point to whatever reports that claimed glories for all the developments stated for Malaysia now. There is only one word for this spurious cry - form over substance. Please think deeper to reflect this.

Just think about how Philippines go down the drain under Marcos government. Sadder still, we are not catching up with the top.

Instead we keep comparing ourselves with the bottom and sliding down the rank as we "proudly" proclaimed these achievements. How pathetic can one be!

The writer shows a serious lack of knowledge and understanding of the role of MCA in the pre-independence era. Not only was MCA was a political tool of the British colonial power, other Alliance parties like MIC and Umno were also political tools of the British.

The British made use of MCA, MIC and Umno to fight the Malay Left and the Malayan Communist Party (MCP) in order to protect its economic interests in the then Malaya.

The Chinese were confined to various Chinese new villages under the Briggs' plan to curb the influence of the communist party. MCA was then granted a licence to run the Million Dollar lottery scheme by the British authority to make easy money from the Chinese community. In return, the MCA had to use part of the profit to win the hearts of the Chinese in the new villages. This strategy worked well to serve the interests of the British master during the pre-independence days.

When the time has come to give independence to Malaya, the British kept its promise by working only with Umno, MCA and MIC. On the other hand, the real independence fighters, including some prominent Malay Left leaders, were arrested and locked up in prisons. And the war against the MCP continued with greater intensity.

But true leader like Tan Cheng Lock were sidelined by other MCA and Umno leaders in the run up to the independence negotiations. Cheng Lock had promised the Chinese community to present the general demands of the Chinese community to the British. But he was barred from attending the final round of talks in London. The MCA was represented by HS Lee and Tan Tong Hai.

According to the late Tunku Abdul Rahman (in one of his writings), Tan Tong Hai threw the entire general demands document into a wastepaper basket in a London hotel room instead of bringing it up at the negotiation table. That is the reason why I often tell the young people that the betrayal of MCA could be traced back to its inception. As a result of this unforgivable sell-out, Chinese Malaysians were treated like second-class citizens in our land. The Chinese were stuck with the 'non-bumis' label thanks to MCA.

It is people like Leong Yew Koh who instigated Tunku to strip the citizenship and teaching licence of foremost Chinese education pioneer Lim Lian Geok. Check with Loot Ting Yee. He is one of the mother tongue education pioneers who can verify my story.

The entire history of MCA is filled with betrayals, crimes and sins. They have failed to preserve and protect the interests and rights of the Chinese community which they have claimed to represent.

Take a closer look at these scandals - the deposit-taking-cooperative scandal, the Aik Hua Holdings scandal, the Chang Min Thien Fund scandal, the MCA JE Fund scandal, it is a never-ending list. And guess what? Most of the victims of these scandals were MCA members and supporters.

Mind you, it was MCA leaders that instigated the closure of the original Bai Xiao (SJKC Damansara) in Petaling Jaya. It was also the efforts of SOS Damansara Action Committee and the pressure mounted by DAP, DongJiaoZong and the entire Chinese community that brought about the unprecedented speedy construction of the new SJKC Damansara in Tropicana.

It is a great shame that MCA leaders do not even bother to get accreditation for the certificates, diplomas and degrees courses offered by TAR College (TARC). Recently, a young Malaysian Chinese boy's application was rejected by the Royal Malaysian Police simply because the academic qualifications he obtained from the MCA sponsored TARC were not recognised by both National Accreditation Board and Public Service Department.

Under the current MCA leadership, the Chinese community can only request for a new Chinese primary school when one is 'dead'. And all these years, the allocation of funds for Chinese primary schools remains unfair and unjust; only about 2.4% of the total budget is given to the Chinese stream and about 1% given to the Tamil stream. The rest was all given to the malay (national type) primary schools. None of the MCA 'tai kohs' (mainly Chinese educated) dare to make noise on this subject.

Yes, Lee Kuan Yew was not totally wrong. The Umno-led BN government has been systematically marginalising the Chinese and other non-malay communities. And what did MCA leaders like Chan Kong Choy and Ong Ka Ting do about it? And why were they keeping so timidly quiet when Umno ultras like Hisham and Khairy make all sorts of racist remarks and even waved a keris time and again shamelessly?

MCA is indefensible. That is why none of the MCA leaders dare to show up for the debate in Machap. And for the same reason, none of them have the courage to rebut me on all the historical facts I raised in my book entitled 'Accomplice? Coward? Culprit? The role of MCA in the Chinese community'.
